Bravo Andy broke the internet this week announcing a new franchise would be announced sooner than we think of the Real Housewives. Everyone knew about Bravo’s filming in Dallas, and expected an announcement for The Real Housewives of Dallas, which we got today, but what no one saw coming was the addition of a BRAND NEW African American ensemble Housewives cast, The Real Housewives of Potomac!
I wonder how the original Real Housewives of DC feel after all the campaigning they’ve done since being cancelled after one season.
Potomac is a small suburb located in the DMV and was rumored to be in production a year or two ago and now has an official release date and will be airing right after the number one Housewives franchise, RHOA starting January 17th at 9 o’clock on Bravo! Press release is below:
Just up the river from our nation’s capital lies a hidden gem—Potomac, Maryland. Its rolling hills, gated mansions, sophisticated prep schools, and exclusive country clubs all serve to keep the area invitation-only. Sprinkled throughout this community are a handful of old-line, wealthy African-American families who have historically broken racial barriers to provide the best life possible for their children. “The Real Housewives of Potomac” follows the upscale lives of six intriguing, well-to-do women: Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon, andAshley Darby, all of whom have fought for their places in this society by way of legacy or marriage. In a town where entry is granted only through class, pedigree, and lineage, how far will these ladies go to secure their spot at the top of this prestigious circle?
